Vietnam Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
Tourist visa is granted to nationals of foreign countries who want to travel to Vietnam for tourist purposes.
Other purposes such as visiting friends and relatives, finding new schools for your kids or exploring business opportunities are allowed with this visa.
Taking up any course of study, no matter how short, is not allowed with this visa.
Before travelling to Vietnam, you are required have a yellow card which is a proof of yellow fever vaccination. The yellow card must be signed by a renowned physician.
A letter of invitation from your host, if you are visiting a friend, is required. The letter should state the duration of the trip, the purpose of visit and the relationship between the applicant and host.
Minors should have an original copy of their birth certificate and a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardian.
All applicants are to ensure that they have a reservation for an accommodation. The reservation should be valid for the duration of stay.
Duration of stay based on visa validity is 3 months for single entry and 3 months to 5 years for multiple entries.
Basically, the single entry allows just one entry into Vietnam after which you have to apply for a new visa to re-enter the country. Multiple-entry allows numerous entries and exits with the same visa for as long as the visa is valid.
Urgent processing of visa can be provided on request at a higher fee.
You will be fined if you overstay your visa.
Vietnam Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
Business visa is granted for trade purposes or business matters.
Citizens and residents of Nigeria can use this visa to engage in consultations, attend conferences and seminars.
A letter of entry clearance usually from your employer in Nigeria or sponsor in Vietnamis needed before an individual can apply for a business visa.
The letter should contain your passport details, type of visa, proposed date of entry and name of the Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate you wish to collect the visa from.
An approval letter from the Vietnamese Immigration Department is also required. It should be sent through your sponsor/ business partner in Vietnam.
Vietnam business visa can be a single-entry or multiple-entry visa.
The single entry visa is valid for 90 days and the multiple-entry is valid from three months to five years.
If you need to extend your visa, it can be done from within Vietnam. Extension processing must begin before the expiry of the current visa.
Typically it takes about two to five working days to process this visa, however, rush visas can be processed.
For your visa to be processed within 24 hours, you have to pay an additional 30% of the normal visa fees. 36 hours processing incurs 20% addition and processing outside working hours, 30% increase.
Applicants should ensure that they have sufficient funds to cover all the costs of their stay in Vietnam and subsequent return to Nigeria.
A business visa cannot be used to study or work in Vietnam.
If you are travelling to attend a seminar or conference, an approval letter from your sponsor/ partner in Vietnam is not needed.
