Facts about Malta Visa for Nigerians
Malta is popular for its beaches which are both lively and quiet. The beaches are popular dive sites among tourists. There are also lagoons which allow tourists to perform activities like snorkeling. Nightclubs in the country come alive during the evening time and this is also one of the activities tourists who enjoy the nightlife relish. The climate, architectural and historical monuments as well as the three UNESCO World Heritage sites are major pulls for tourists in the country.

There has been an increase in the number of hotels over time which also has led to an increase in the number of foreigners who visit the country. Malta Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
This is the type of visa issued to persons who intend to visit Malta for tourism purposes.
The Maltese tourist visa is a short-stay visa valid for a period of 3 months.
During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
The passport you are using must have at least two blank pages.
Good medical care is available in Malta, but facilities may be limited outside urban areas.
You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires.
This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
If you are traveling with a pet, the animal must have a microchip, rabies vaccination and official veterinary certificate.
Malta Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
This is type of visa issued to Nigerians traveling to Malta for business purposes.
You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Maltese company you will be visiting.
This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the dates of your trip.
If are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel.
Your bank statement from the last 6 months is needed.
Self-employed people will submit proof of business registration.
You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
Your passport must not be older than 10 years while applying for this visa and it must be valid for at least 3 months longer than the intended period of stay.
Malta Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
If you’re planning on taking a job in Malta you might need to get a work visa first.
A worker from a non-EU country must first obtain a visa to enter Malta and then apply for the residence/work permit once in Malta.
Work permits in Malta are employer-specific(although there can be exceptions), occupation-specific, and location-specific, and are normally valid for one year.
If you are not a citizen of an EU country, you need an employment license in order to be able to work in Malta.
EU nationals[except citizens of Croatia], EEA and Swiss nationals do not require an employment license to work in Malta.
Third country nationals who are eligible for the Single Permit Application still require an employment license.
They also need to submit a health clearance form.
Work permits must be secured for employees, and sponsored by a locally licensed and incorporated entity.
Malta Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
A visa is required to study in Malta for a period longer than 90 days.
The Consulate of Malta requires applicants to apply for student visas directly — a personal appearance may be necessary at the nearest Consulate.
The Maltese student visa may take up to 2-3 months to be issued.
Unlike the visit visa, the student visa offers a longer duration.
A holder of the visa can stay in Malta for as long as their study curriculum permits.
Please note that non-EU/EEA nationals will not be able to obtain a visa to enter Malta if they apply for part-time day/ evening courses.
Following arrival and registration at the University, ALL international students who stay for more than 3 months(ie. 90 days) should apply for an e-Residence Permit.
When consulates require an appointment, this may need to be scheduled as much as 4 to 6 weeks in advance because appointment times are limited and fill quickly.
After the appointment, the visa processing time may take an additional 1 to 4 weeks.
Therefore, it could take as long as between 8 to 9 weeks from the time of application to when visa is finally issued.
